Job description

The procurement officer is responsible for ensuring the availability of raw materials, components, and supplies necessary for production, in accordance with Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives.
He/she actively contributes to the reliability of the production system, inventory control, and the overall performance of the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Order Management
    Analyze procurement needs based on production schedules and inventory levels.
    Place orders with suppliers and track them through to delivery.
    Ensure that deliveries meet specifications (quantity, quality, and lead times).
    Manage emergencies, delays, and potential stockouts in coordination with operations.
  • Inventory Management
    Optimizeinventorylevels to prevent stockouts while minimizing excess inventory.
    Implement and maintain inventorymanagement rules: MOQ, lots, Min/Max, Kanban, safety stock.
    Participate in inventory counts and ensure data accuracy.
    Identify sources of waste and propose improvements.
  • Supplier relations
    Participate in the selection and evaluation of suppliers.
    Monitor supplier performance according to QCD criteria.
    Contribute to the resolution of disputes (delays, non-compliance).
    Participate in the continuous improvement of supply conditions.
  • Analysis & continuous improvement
    Analyze purchasing costs and suggest ways to optimize them.
    Produce indicators and reports related to procurement activities.
    Contribute to improving the reliability of ERP/MRP processes.
    Work closely with planning, production, quality, and purchasing departments.

Qualifications

  • Training in procurement management, logistics, supply chain, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (customization is an asset).
  • Comfortable with computer tools and ERP/MRP systems.
